Manage the overall operation of TRRC Childcare Programs: The Nest & Little Grizzlies. This includes but is not limited to the following: providing a safe, healthy, consistent, positive, caring environment to children in your care as well as members of your staff. For The Nest: Employee Childcare Service The Childcare Manager supports parents/employees by establishing good rapport, positive methods of communication, and mutual care practices for children. For Little Grizzlies: Ranch Guest Service Create a high level experience for our youngest guests by providing a fun, safe, clean and educational environment to meet and exceed the guest’s expectations and those of their parents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Nest • Plan both long and short-range developmentally appropriate activities. • Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child. • Prepare monthly plans for schedules, meals, activities, etc. • Inform and orient families to services available. • Maintain daily open communication with parents. • Keep clear and correct reports and records regarding accidents, immunizations, medication, safety drills, cleaning schedules, etc. • Maintain confidentiality. • Report any suspected abuse. • Maintain a positive, safe and healthy environment. • Attend all staff meetings at The Ranch at Rock Creek. • Supervise, hire and schedule all childcare providers. • Meet all applicable licensing/registration regulations. Little Grizzlies • Learn, build and understand the Little Grizzlies Program, and make improvements or changes as necessary. • Managing the Little Grizzlies schedule and managing any guest issues with the program. • Managing Ranch babysitting requests: scheduling babysitters, communicating with guests and managing any guest issues. • Be responsible for Little Grizzlies activities, including Adopt-A-Horse, Geocaching, babysitting services, and LG dinners that take place Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Work to develop new activities. Coordinate with other departments for the execution of LG activities as necessary. • Oversee LG program guides and lead by example in related activities. • Provide a safe environment for LG program attendees and coworkers. Education/Experience • High school or equivalent education required • Previous supervisor and childcare experience required • Must meet state education and licensing requirements o Pass background check o CPR and First Aid Certified o Updated immunization records (measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria) o Attend Basic Daycare Orientation within 60 days of hire and complete 8 hours of approved training annually Special Skills/Equipment Competencies: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities: • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including but not limited to, assignment of duties, evaluating service and taking disciplinary action when needed. • Must have an attention to detail Physical Demands: • Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with children, providers and parents. • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. Other: Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position. Irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the fluctuation in business levels in the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of The Ranch. In addition, attendance is required at all scheduled training sessions and meetings.
