Position: Executive Director/Supervisor Reports to: Board of Directors Blacksmith Childcare Centre is a non-profit, licensed, school based childcare centre providing quality care for the families with toddlers to school age children. We are looking for an Executive Director/Supervisor to assume operations of the Centre for a 6-month Maternity Leave Contract. In collaboration with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director/ Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Centre, ensuring compliance with all government regulations, managing of human and financial resources and liaising with local community partners. Required Qualifications: - Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Education - In good standing with College of ECE - 5 years experience in a childcare setting. - Supervisory and admin experience an asset. - Valid standard first aid and infant/Child CPR (level C) - up to date vulnerable sector reference check - up to date medical and immunization records - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Familiar with voluntary Board of Directors a preference. - Proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel, *******) - Sound Knowledge of: Ministry of Education Childcare and Early Years Act, Toronto Public Health Guidance, How Does Learning Happen? Toronto Children's Services Assessment for Quality Improvement and Administration and Financial Assessment requirements, Health and Safety Act, AOD Act, Ontario Employment Standards Act. Key duties and responsibilities: - Manage and make decisions on the day-to-day operations for the organization. - Conduct staff meetings, communicate new policies and procedures to employees, provide training and professional development. - Ensure implementation of Centre's Program Statement. - Monitor the day-to-day delivery of the programs to maintain and improve quality. - Ensure classrooms, equipment, and outside play areas are safe and in good condition, maintain enrollment, waitlist, orientation, registration and contact information for all childcare inquiries. - Work with employees, relevant licensing personal and consultants from various governing parties to accomplish required objectives. - Review and update policies and procedures, parent handbook, employment manual and staff contracts as required. - Attend board meetings and provide a report on the operations of the organization, prepare agenda, financial statements for board. - Assist and advise Board on compliance requirements and operating the organization. - Ensure timely payments of accounts payable and manage accounts receivable, prepare biweekly payroll, ensure operating expenditures remain within the budget guidelines, assist in preparing the annual audit and any grant applications and reconciliation forms. - The successful candidate will be able to provide leadership as a member of a professional team and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment. Salary: $30 to $35 /hour depending on experience and will be determined when the job offer is extended. Must be available to start by June 17, 2024 depending on how much training will be required.
