Early Childhood Educator Job in Toronto, Ontario

1. Providing direct care of toddler, preschool, kindergarten and school age children in age-appropriate programs designed to stimulate and promote the physical, emotional, social and cognitive development of the individual child. 2. Provide up to date and developmentally appropriate behaviour modification techniques with the children. 3. Assisting with program development to meet the individual and group needs of the children. 4. Ensuring the safety, health and well-being of the children in the Centre. 5. Identifying and reporting special needs and concerns to the Supervisor. 6. Providing a positive role model for parents, students and staff participating in the Centre. 7. Providing instruction in childcare and expected developmental levels to parents, students and staff participating in the Centre. 8. Communicating effectively with parents and staff on a day-to-day basis, in order to work as part of a team. 9. Supervision and evaluation of students from participating school and community college programs. 10. Ongoing participation in professional workshops and team meetings. 11. Maintaining professional standards of cleanliness, order and organization of supplies in the centre’s room. 12. Recording daily activities and reports as outlined in the policies of the Centre. 13. Must have an understanding and be able to adhere to the guidelines of the Child Care Early Years Act, Toronto Public Health and AQI 14. Clear understanding of the requirements and importance of the serious occurrence guidelines. Qualifications 1. A degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education & Proof of Registration to the College of ECE’s 2. Previous experience working with toddler, preschool/Kindergarten and school age children in a group setting 3. Current First Aid certificate 4. Criminal Ref Check. 5. Proof of Full Covid Vaccination
