TOPP KIDS Out of School Clubs is a blend of Childcare, recreation, and education delivered first by developing positive relationships and mentorships between participants, educators and communities using our PLAY, GROW, LAUGH & LEARN model. We serve 10 communities across Calgary hosting 13 Out of school care and KindiClub enrichment programs and camps during those “critical hours” before and after school, and throughout the summer for children ages 5 -12 . Job Description: Become an " Active Play Coordinator!" or "Assistant Program Coordinator" ACTIVE PLAY COORDINATOR As an Active Play Coordinator, your job is to work as a core part of the team, providing a safe, fun, club based environment both indoors and out for children registered in TOPP KIDS programs. You will be responsible for ensuring daily duties are executed with excellence- outlined in your portfolio and making sure there is a high level of fun and excitement for the children at all times. You will act as a support to everyone on the team and be in charge of planning and preparing outstanding daily activities that inspire and motivate children to be involved while providing them the chance to take leadership. You report directly to the Program Coordinator. The Active Play Coordinators additional qualities/skills needed are:  Strong supervision and leadership skills  Strong communicator, both written and oral communication  Knowledge and familiarity with the previous Child Care Accreditation Standards, measures, and process  Knowledge of the jurisdiction of the Alberta Child Care Act  Possession of basic computer and technological skills, especially Word, Excel, Adobe, and the internet (preparation of documents in various formats such as PDF, Word, etc., electronic file naming, uploading documents).  Ability to maintain the confidentiality of inner workings/ staff / or issues that may arise  Ability to maintain a routine, transitions, and expectations effectively and consistently  Attention to detail with a focus on goals  Excellent follow-up and takes initiative  Continuously innovative  Ability to be physically active and play  Spirit of teamwork and professionalism  Ability to convey a Family Run Feel * ***And most of all, HAVE FUN!!! **** Positions will train at one of our nine programs. Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold or be willing to complete a First Aid Certification and a Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check. Previous experience with school-age children and/ or previous childcare administrative work and accreditation processes are assets.
