Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

I am a hard-working, enthusiastic, self-motivated and trustworthy Childcare practitioner. I have over twelve years’ experience working with children in a variety of settings, mainly child care centers and Montessori schools. I am both eager and always willing to learn and improve my skills. I have a strong passion for working with children and to date I have completed a major award in Childcare and an advanced certificate in Supervision in Childcare. In addition to these I have a diploma from the Child Development Practitioner program and a certificate in Early Childhood Administration. I hold a valid first aid and cpr certificate which, along with certificates for the attendance of workshops on many different topics such as social and emotional development. I was voted as a worker’s representative for the Joint Health and Safety Committee and took part in a five-day training workshop. Learning is a life-long process and I am always eager to learn about the newest changes and consistently seek to find ways to enhance the programs I run. It has been my aim and ambition to work in childcare from an early age, in this time I have gained a wealth of experience in a number of areas. These include dealing with children and parents, working efficiently under stress, and working as part of a team. I have also developed strong planning, problem solving, multi-tasking, computer, supervision, and organisational skills. Throughout my career I have also demonstrated my ability to do paper work competently. I have gained experience with children of different ages, working in infant, toddler, pre-school, Montessori and after school rooms. I am currently seeking a new challenge in a management position. I love helping others and have been a source of knowledge and reassurance for staff and families throughout my career. I have excellent understanding of How Does Learning Happen and the CCEYA which will support me in this role.
