Early childhood educator Job in Richmond Hill, Ontario

If you have a passion for working with children in the 2-4 year age group we would love to hear from you. Our warm, friendly and caring preschools located at 21 Bedford Park Ave., Richmond Hill, ON, L4C2N9 is in need of individuals that thrive on teaching, nurturing and caring for children.

Ideal candidate should possess 2-3 years experience as an Early Childhood Educator and be registered with CECE or be eligible for Director's Approval for ECE. First Aid and CPR Certificate are also required. This position is for 37.5 hours/ week during 7am to 6pm with a compensation of $20/ hour.

Specific skills for this role are:

Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity, Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits, Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor, Knowledge of licensing regulations, Establish guidelines for behaviour, Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

In addition, assisting early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
