My experience as a Childcare worker has provided me with the opportunity to practice related work in many aspects of this field. I have developed my own Preschool Program for the intial two years of my career. I implemented the open-ended and hands-on philosophy in my class which leaned more towards the Reggio Emilia approach to child development in all areas of growth. My focus was to create a resourceful, stimulating and socially interactive, positive learning environment for children. This resulted in them building their confidence and provided them with a tool to acquire knowledge and an understanding of their surroundings. It also helped them to develop problem solving methods. Working in a daycare environment provided me with a chance to build on my nurturing skills for children spending most of their days with us, and away from their home environment. I worked more closely with parents to create a continuity in learning for the child through communication and implementation of formal and informal individual and education plans. I enjoy working with children and their families and would like to pursue my career.
