Early Childhood Educator in Calgary, Alberta

I've completed a Degree in Education with specialization in Physical Education (British Bachelors honours degree equivalence) allowing me to teach individuals from the ages of 5 up to 14. The structure and content of the course included training in areas such as educational psychology, natural and body sciences (anathomy, physiology, kinesiology, motorslkills development, first aid, theory and methodology of sports training), artistic expression and pedagogy and sports teaching practice, among other areas. Apart from my higher education training, I also had 2 years of apprenticeship teaching practice. I hold a strong command of physical education teaching, and have an ability to access and use classroom relevant research and inspection evidence to improve teaching and learning in physical education, particularly soccer. I am passionate about sports especially soccer, I've been coaching soccer for 15 years from U5 up to U18 and even A-Teams. I am also experienced in working with dementia, autism spectrum disorder, challenging behaviour and learning disabilities, as well as compiling assessments and support plan reviews, person centered plans among others. I enjoy the personal contact and to establish empathy as well as know the importance of being non-judgemental and open minded. I also have a diploma in both Assistant Physiotherapy and Personal Training. I am comfortable of working in multi-disciplinary teams or even work alone. When I served in the Portuguese Armed Forces, I served as a Sergeant and was the leader of a group of soldiers, for which I am aware of all aspects of working in a cohesive environment, and the importance of leadership in a classroom. Creating schedules, setting plans, running practice exercises and games, and cultivating a healthy team atmosphere are just a few of the areas in which I excel. I maintain an unwavering focus on improving skills and techniques while always ensuring a safe and supportive environment to encourage socialization and team cohesion. A particular highlight in my career to date is my role as a Soccer Academy Head of Coaching. This included management of the teaching course and sports department programme. I was responsible for new trainees apprenticeships which incorporated oversight of formal assessments and providing feedback to aid coaches and trainees in their professional development and being the clubs representative at conferences as a speaker. I also was in charge of Continuous Professional Development training programme. In addition to Portuguese, I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I am extremely motivated and have a real passion for teaching. Given the opportunity, I would relish the chance to promote all aspects related to the job role.
