Early Childhood Educator in Scarborough, Ontario

I am graduating in June of 2014 with ECE Diploma from centennial College. I wish to submit my application for the Early Childhood Educator position. I am a dedicated and qualified early childhood teacher with a passion for children’s learning and care, and experience working in preschool and kindergarten environments with children aged two-to-five. I am currently employed as a ECE at Ascot Avenue Community Daycare and Oakwood Collegiate Institute public high school as a noon hour assistant . In my current role I am responsible for delivering creative learning and play activities to up to 15 children aged three-to-five. I also work with other teachers to help craft the centre’s curriculum. I have developed strong skills in creating fun and interactive learning activities and materials, observing and reporting on child development and conduct, and developing solid rapport with children, families and staff. I have experience implementing stimulating activities geared towards scaffolding individual children’s developmental domain and am proficient in the Days Nursery Act. This along with my well developed profession skills and knowledge of toddler and preschool children allow me to provide and maintain a safe, stimulating and educational environment for all children in both indoor and outdoor environments. Furthermore I am able to maintain open and effective communication skills with staff, parents, the children and the community. My education, hands on experience and working history will contribute to the achievement of the day care goals.
