Early Childhood Educator in Scarborough, Ontario

Throughout attending Centennial College where I took Child and Youth Work, I had three placements. Two in elementary schools and one at a residential group home. In the elementary schools I have experience working with children from JK to grade 8. When I worked at the group home I worked with adolescents from the ages of 13-20 years old. Throughout these placements, I provided counselling, taught life skills to classes, implemented evidence based programs to small groups, supporting and motivated students in the classroom, recognized warning signs of behaviours, and created stable and professional relationships with staff. I also have experience working in child care, I cared for, and assisted in planning programming for infants to school aged children. In my elementary school placements, I was placed in a sectioned classroom that had 6 students with autism. I also worked one to one with a child who had autism in a mainstream classroom. During my time at the residential group home, I worked with dual diagnosed males.
