I am confident that my on-the-job education and experience, as well as my strong communication skills, make me an ideal candidate for a Teacher/ECE position. Teaching 2 Kindergarten classes and 4 Grade 4 classes for the past 2 years at private schools has taught me skills such as organization, communication, problem solving and making minute-to-minute decisions, time management, collaboration, attention to detail, and so much more. These skills will help me with my time management skills, supervising children safely, and work independently as well as in a team setting. I am a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, with an extensive education in arts and education. I have used the Canadian curriculum for the past two years. I am very organized and always have a positive attitude, which will help me implement a play-based environment that supports healthy child development. As a professional educator, I can think outside of the box, and I am aware of how to reach my students’ interests and how to teach in multiple ways for each and every type of learner. I support play-based learning because it inspires a high level of engagement, and allows children to learn about the world on their own through experience. Hands-on, inquiry-based learning lets students be in charge of what/how they learn. It allows exploration and problem solving. Best of all, it is catered to the child’s interest! ELECT allows teachers to focus on physical, social, emotional, communication, and cognitive development. It will help me to connect with the child’s development and allow me to discover the importance of supportive interactions and relationships between the child and the teacher/ECE.
