Early Childhood Educator Job in Edmonton, Alberta

We are a brand new childcare facility. This unique daycare is a one-stop center for children up to 12 years of age. Hours of operation are from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. with an extended after-hours program from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30pm and various appointments on weekend. This childcare facility is located in south Edmonton. The Assistant Daycare Director is responsible for organizing programs and working with team members to develop the curriculum for the centre and providing support to the Daycare Director. The individual filling this roll will have excellent interpersonal skills and experience working in diverse environments. This position is a full-time position and is located in Southeast Edmonton. Qualifications • Government of Alberta Childhood Development Supervisor Certification • 3 – 5 years experience in the childcare profession • 3 – 5 years of experience utilizing the Alberta childcare framework and working with emergent curriculum • CPR and Childcare First Aid • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (not dated more than 6 months prior to start date) • Child Intervention Check • Acceptable driver’s abstract • Food Handling Certificate, an asset • Class 4 Alberta Operator’s Licence, an asset Skills • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills • Creative problem-solving skills • Strong supervisory skills • Has patience and a passion to work with young children
