Early Childhood Educator in Hamilton, Ontario

My name is Kelly Kwiecien and I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator and graduate of Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. I have been working with children for over 10 years as an ECE/ECA. I have also worked as a supply, have experience with children ages 0-12 years, and have participated in before and after school care programs as well as summer camps and School Supervisor. At Tender Years Co-operative School I was the Temporary School Supervisor from January 2017 until July 2017. I also had a Pre-JK Kindergarten RECE position and in school support person for various classrooms. Previous to Tender Years I held a position at Little Angels II in January of 2016 as a Preschool Lead RECE. Before Little Angels I was on maternity leave for a year after having my daughter. Previous to being on Maternity leave I was working at Mindwerx 4 Kids Childcare Centre for 2 years. There I worked closely with Psychologists, Behaviour Therapists, and Resource Consultants. The last 9 months I worked at Mindwerx 4 Kids I was in a Preschool room were I was working as a one-on-one. I worked closely with the other RECE, OCT, and RC to develop Individualized Program Plans IPPs. I am strong believer that each child is different and has unique needs. It is my responsibility as a Professional to meet those needs, and help the child develop by supporting them when needed and also allowing them the space they need to try and accomplish various tasks. In the past I was enrolled in the CYW program and had the opportunity to work in a group home setting with youth who were dual-diagnosed i.e. PDD and ASD.
