Early Childhood Educator in Georgetown, Ontario
I'm an
Individual
To whom it may concern,
I am interested in applying for a future position of Instructor Therapist, ECE, or doing administrative tasks in an office environment.
As of September/October, 2017 I am enrolling in the Master of Applied Disability Studies at Brock University for part-time/online studies. In June 2017, I completed my Advanced Diploma in Behavioural Science Technology from George Brown College. I have a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Psychology with a minor in Family and Child Studies from the University of Guelph.
I currently work as an Instructor Therapist at Exceptional Minds Adaptive Learning Services Inc, providing intensive behavioural intervention to children of varying ages that are across the spectrum.
My first 7-week student placement through George Brown was located at 2 Surrey Place Centre where I worked with TPAS team 1 in the IBI wing. My second 7-week student placement was located at the Geneva Centre for Autism where I also worked in TPAS.
I have previous experience volunteering at Kerry’s Place Autism Services sharing similar responsibilities as I did at Surrey Place and the Geneva Centre.
From Oct 2015 to June 2016 I worked as an ECE at the YMCA with children who had behaviours as well as with children who had autism and other developmental disabilities. Through my work as an ECE I have experience working with the parents of the children and updating them on their child’s progress and development. I also worked in conjunction with a support team such as the Reach Out Centre for Kids. Incorporating the students with autism and other special needs in classroom activities was also a key focus.
I also have experience working in a corporate office from May-August, each summer, for 5 consecutive years as well as casual work throughout the year. My roles included administrative tasks, working in accounts-receivables as well as reception which included a switch-board of more then 100 lines for each staff member in the company.
I work well in a team as well as independently. I also have great organizational and time management skills. I believe I would be an asset to your team.
Sincerely,
Nicole Gobbi
