Early Childhood Educator Job in Etobicoke, Ontario

Teddy Bear Educare Advance is a daycare provider in Etobicoke, licensed by the Ministry of Education to provide care for children aged 18 months to 6 years. We are currently looking for an Early Childhood Assistant to support our Early Childhood Educators in our Toddler Room. Qualifications: This candidate will be responsible for: Assist ECE in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records Attend staff meetings to discuss administrative matters as well progress/problems of children Plan and organize activities for toddler and/or preschool children Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants Required Skills: Flexible and Reliable Team player Excellent oral communication Dependable Able to exercise judgement Exercises values and ethics Other Job Requirements: Vulnerable Sector Criminal reference Check A valid Standard First Aid, with level C CPR Positive and sensitive attitude towards children and staff Physically able to participate with children in centre and outdoors Experience in a daycare setting Some knowledge of City of Toronto new framework for learning (How Does Learning Happen) would also be an asset
