Early Childhood Educator Job in Calgary, Alberta

Thornhill Child Care Society is currently recruiting a full time Early Childhood Educator for the Center located in the Huntington Hills area in North Calgary. As part of Thornhill Child Care Society's vision of providing quality child care and supporting families, we require an educated, trained and experienced Early Learning Educator for our center that provides care to children aged 19 months-6 years of age. This position will include providing support to children with extra needs. Qualifications: The ideal candidates will have experience within the Early Learning and Child Care field, be certified with a CDW (Child Development Worker) or a CDS (Child Development Supervisor) certificate in Alberta, specifically with 2 or more years of post-secondary education in Early Childhood Development. Candidates must have the ability to work with a Multi-disciplinary Team of professionals, specifically supporting children with extra needs in the classroom. Candidates must possess strong verbal English abilities. Knowledge of or training in the FLIGHT Curriculum, Emergent Curriculum, or knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach to Early Learning is an asset. Other qualifications include current First Aid in Child Care, a current Criminal Background Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search and the ability to work shifts between 7:00AM-6PM depending on the needs of the Centre.
