Early Childhood Educator in Markham, Ontario

Hi, my name is Dipika Tanotra, 23 years old born and raised in Toronto. Last year I graduated from York University, I have a double major in Work and Labour Studies & Women Studies.  Some of my favourite things to do are eating, hiking and enjoying nature mostly. Growing up in Toronto it was all go go go and people everywhere. For me, teaching means allowing me to put in work and finding the joy to this journey. Teaching to me means making a difference in the lives of others. I want to be able to encourage, inspire and impact students around me. Teaching to me also means having a rewarding experience and giving one a sense of purpose in their life. In 2018 I had the chance to teach student English aboard in Barcelona, Spain. Teaching English abroad taught me how lucky we are in Canada to have a strong and stable education system. The resources I have around myself taught me the potential I could have as a teacher one day. I got to see the education system from an overseas perspective, I got to understand the culture and education system and how it differs from Canada and other countries around me. Currently during my free time, I have been tutoring students in Korea from ages 6-12. I have helped them mainly with the English Language.
