Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

I'm currently the lead RECE at Lakeside Co-operative Playschool. In this position I'm responsible for meeting the needs of all the children in our center, planning developmentally appropriate activities based on children's individual needs and skill sets, recording observations of all children in our center, facilitating a safe yet fun environment for the children to thrive in, and maintaining open communication between our parents and educators. Prior to my time at Lakeside Co-operative Playschool I was a supply teacher at Hester How Childcare Center in City Hall for four years. Through my time at Hester How I had the opportunity to spend time in all their different rooms with my main focus being in their preschool program. Through my position there I was responsible with working along side other teachers in a team environment in planing curriculum based on the children's developmental needs, recording observations, and creating a warm and welcoming environment for the children to thrive in. I'm a very hard working individual who is passionate about the children I work with. I'm always looking for ways I can improve my practice whether through workshops, self reflection, or my own research. I feel its important to continue to try to improve your practice in order to continue to be a great ECE. I'm also a mother to identical twin boys who I love dearly.
