I am very playful, flexible, relentlessly positive, energetic, and curious. I have an Early Childhood Educator Assistant Certificate, a Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR-C and AED, and FOODSAFE Level 1. I have lots of toys, games, and resources that I love to share, and I am always looking for new and exciting toys and people to play with. That being said, I absolutely don't mind doing the "donkey work" that others aren't fond of: cleaning and sanitizing, sweeping and mopping, dressing and toileting, managing distractions during group time and pulling children away for quiet activities when needed, mealtimes and naptimes, and building and maintaining activity spaces to Licensing's standards. I find that most children like my quieter, compassionate energy; especially those with emotional and behavioural challenges. I am able to explain complex social situations in ways that are meaningful to each child, without over-simplifying or shaming. I don’t break down when there’s an accident or emergency; I provide first aid (if necessary) and appropriate support to move on with the day or evacuate if circumstances require. I am looking for mainly a play-based 3-5 program where I can put my knowledge and skills to good use. I prefer full-time, but I am flexible on this point. Currently I require a centre that is walking distance to a public transit point, unless I can find a place somewhat nearby (I find that I can tolerate about an hour of brisk walking before it begins to impact my workday).
