This position includes working in the Children’s Services Department and may include but not limited to working in After School Programs, Camp, Children’s Recreation Programs/Activities and Birthday Parties. RECE Supply Work collaboratively with the Child Care Supervisor by ensuring the efficient daily operation and activity in an Early Learning and Licensed Child Care Centre. Plan and implement a quality program for children 16 months to 5 years based on the Emergent Curriculum, in keeping with the YWCA mission, vision and value and working in compliance with the Child Care, Early Years Act. • Completion of post-secondary education in related field or working towards the completion of post-secondary education in related field or combination of related work and academic experience (RECE and Registered with CECE an asset) • Demonstrates empathy, understanding, excellent listening skills and maturity • Must provide a TB test, proof of Tetanus (within 10 years) and proof of MMR immunizations • Works well in a team setting and independently • Experience working with children • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills • Must have excellent organizational skills • Ability to communicate effectively with Supervisor on and off site • Experience working in a diverse community and setting • Attend and participate in staff and team meetings • Proficiency with MS Office Applications including but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook • Working from a feminist, anti-oppressive /anti-racist perspective • Must provide a valid current Vulnerable Sector Police Check or willingness to obtain at own cost • Must have Current Standard First Aid or willingness to obtain at own cost • Bilingual English/other language is an asset • HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) training seen as an asset As part of YWCA Hamilton’s commitment to Access and Equity, we strive to represent the diverse communities that we serve.
