Early Childhood Educator in Barrie, Ontario

I have a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Behavioural Psychology with emphasis on behavioural modification and motivational counseling. I am currently in the process of applying to an early childhood education program while working in the field In addition to my formal education, I have successfully demonstrated the ability to build rapport with children and adolescents. Some of my previous experience has been working in a private home environment, working one-on-one with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder, to assist the child with day-to-day activities and promote appropriate social behaviours in group settings, as well as volunteer experience working as a Programs Assistant with Extend-A-Family Kingston and the Frontenac Club Day Care, assisting children with special needs participate in scheduled activities. While earning my degree I completed a total of three practicums at local public schools, within the Limestone District School Board, working with children in kindergarten through grade 8 with developmental delays.
