About Us

CEFA Early Learning Schools (Core Education & Fine Arts) is Canadas private school for the early years. CEFA is designed for infants and children from one to five years old. CEFA features an enriched curriculum that includes a unique partnership of core subjects, such as reading, writing, math and fine arts, including drama, and yoga, all with the goal of providing children with the freedom to learn and grow through play. CEFA is based in Vancouver, British Columbia and has 21 locations located in British Columbia and Ontario.
CEFA schools in now coming to Calgary, Alberta, with a licensed location of 166 children, scheduled to open mid - January 2020.

As the CEFA schools are highly dependent on the reputation of our curriculum, the Principal role at CEFA schools is to inspire Teachers to become better Teachers, and to facilitate the implementation of the CEFA educational method and philosophy. Training will be provided from head office and online support.

We are looking for a Principal with a passion for working with staff, families and the surrounding community. We are seeking quick thinking, confident, self-motivated, organized, and friendly personalities.

Qualifications:
Valid Alberta Supervisor Certification (Level 3) with a minimum of 2 years relevant practical experience as a director or Assistant director in a licensed setting.
Experienced in a pre-school or childcare setting and knowledge of child development.
Strong Knowledge of Licensing and the Accreditation process
Management experience for a minimum of 2 years is an asset
Must have knowledge of MS Office. (Word & Excel)
Excellent communication (written & verbal) and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and to exercise time management.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that our curriculum, policies, procedures and classroom operational policies are carried out.
Monitor Teachers progress and provide feedback. (verbal & written)
Ensure the school is complying with Alberta Licensing and Regulation.
In-class observation of all classes; and provide feedback. (verbal & written)
Conducts regular one-on-ones with Teachers
Provide guidance and information to all parties both internally and externally. (e.g. Parents and Teachers)
Fosters and maintains positive relationships with parents, children, staff, management, other schools and head office.
Oversees and coordinates the schools daily operation, scheduling, and administration.
Manages and actively participates in marketing activities
Manages school inquiries, registration, enrollment and student layouts.
Hiring and new staff orientation
Conducting new family/student interviews
Developing a strong and positive relationship with families
Monitoring teachers progress and providing positive feedback, regularly.
Working a minimum of 15 hours per week in-class, with each Teacher, observing Teachers leading their activities and teaching Teachers.
Being able to talk knowledgeably about our program and the CEFA philosophy to families, staff and outside groups and individuals (CEFA Systems Head Office Principal Training will be Provided)
Ensure all new parents and children are oriented into the center upon enrollment
Write newsletters informing parents of center events, and monthly newsletters
Conduct annual performance reviews on all staff
Hold staff meetings as needed for center and by CEFA to ensure open communication channels
Organize and attend Open Houses, and community events as necessary
Organize staff parties and parent events at center
