Early Childhood Educator in North York, Ontario
I am a highly reliable and motivated individual. My academic courses and practicum placements provided me with first-rate skills in education and care, activity creation and implementation, and behaviour management. My multitasking and organizational abilities are exceptional and are complimented by my excellent verbal and written communication skills.
In university, my remarkable practicums provided me with valuable hands-on experience in the field of early childhood education. During my practicum at St. Lukes I specifically devoted my efforts to implementing lessons in Language Arts. I made my lessons cross-curricular with the Arts and themes of Global Perspectives, taking a holistic approach to teaching and learning. I believe that my community-based practicums at the Ontario Science Centre and the Toronto Botanical Garden are great assets as I gained experience at planning spontaneous activities based on the specific environment. I take great pride in creating developmentally appropriate activities that are enjoyable, educational, and promote peer collaboration. I have a passion for involving students in their learning and take into consideration the interest of my students when planning lessons, which makes learning meaningful and related to real-life experiences. My latest employment at Head Start Montessori permitted me to gain familiarity with the Toddler age group as I set-up a classroom environment to best suit the needs of the children and developed indoor and outdoor programming to promote exploration and discovery.
