I have previous experience working in a childcare facility for 11 years. Duties include and not limited to planning games and activities for the children. Supervising and monitoring their safety. Helped with good hygiene and proving emotional support for them. Worked with the supervisor and director to developed schedules and routines to ensure that the children had adequate physical activity, rest and learning time. For the past 20 years I have been a foster parent to more that 50 children. The level of their needs were from mild to severe. Duties include and not limited to recognizing triggers and helping the children to navigate these triggers. Teaching them how to resolve minor issues among themselves and developing solutions to modify behavior as needed. Helping the children to develop self-confidence and healthy relationships with others. Advocating for extra support for the children in my care from other sources when needed such as doctors, counselors and the school system. Also providing emotional support to them. Watched for signs of emotional or developmental problems and bring my concern to the attention of the caseworker. I have acquired many certificates during my work as a foster parent. I am highly motivated and willing to take further training as required.
