Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

My name is Danielle Gonsalves and I am in currently in my second year in the Child and Youth Care Degree Program at Ryerson University. I have lots of recreational experience with children of all ages and also have Standard First Aid and CPR- C and my NLS certifications. I am a friendly, outgoing individual who is passionate about enhancing the lives of children. I feel strongly about giving back to the community, and feel this position will provide me with the opportunity to do so. I have just completed my first internship for school at Geneva Centre for Autism and absolutely loved it. Being very interested in working with special needs, I’d like to apply my knowledge and skills to assist children in a school environment. I would love to share my experience and skills with children and youth who are in need. Throughout the past three years, I have worked closely with children and youth ages 7-15, at Camp Couchiching. I counselled the children and youth in their learning, promoted positive social/emotional interactions, collaborated with the staff planning and implemented outdoor recreational programs that would accommodate their skills and desires. I loved working with children and youth over different volunteer work and job related settings. I love and enjoy working with children and youth to help them have fun, learn and grow. I have demonstrated planning and strong organizational capabilities. I communicate in a courteous and sensitive manner with staff, students and parents. During my volunteer and careers, I have acquired hands on experience in teamwork; problem solving and teaching skills that I believe will be an asset to your organization. I support and provide direct care to them as they enjoy facilitated activities and learn social skills.
