Early Childhood Educator in Gants Hill, England

I'm an
Individual
I am passionate about education and fully committed to a philosophy and practice which promotes equality and diversity no matter what the child’s background. I firmly believe that early childhood is the most crucial stage in a child’s life and I’m passionate about supporting this important stage and help children learn and grow as they interact with the world around them. The skills children learn at this age will stick with them for life and facilitating this learning through play and exploration, is something I find extremely rewarding. In my role as Early Childhood Phase Leader, I delivered and managed the EYFS curriculum framework in nursery and reception. In accordance to the EYFS development areas, I was able to assess, monitor , record and report children’s progress. This included assessing and tracking children against the development matters statement and managing children transitioning from nursery to reception. In my role as Early Years Teacher and Head of the EYFS department I was responsible for 24 children with a range of special needs including Autism, Down Syndrome and Learning Difficulties. Furthermore, this requires me to liaise and collaborate with Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy to support the medical needs of SEND children. One of the main changes Some of the changes under my leadership included Teaching and learning through play and exploration, use of workstations and direct teaching, speech and language to be fully immersed in all aspects of teaching and learning and annual reviews to reflect performance scales for SEND children to name a few. I firmly believe that early school engagement patterns set the stage for short and long-term academic behaviours and progress. Working in an international setting at Crown Private School , with a transient community means building sustainable systems and structures that allow each member of the community to understand the direction of the school and opportunities within is even more fundamental. I always began the school year reinforcing the triangulation between home and school and planned an array of opportunities in the school calendar where partnerships could be strengthened, learning shared and celebrated so that together, as a supportive community of staff and parents, we could give each individual pupil “roots to grow and wings to fly” I am delighted to be applying for this position and confident that my experience of six years in a variety of educational and leadership roles provides a sound basis for my application.
