Early Childhood Educator in Maple, Ontario

My experience working with children has been an eye-opener because it\'s interesting to see how each child has different personalities and uniqueness, which is very interesting when interacting with the children as a whole group. Also, I learn a lot for myself from the children such as interesting activities that the children make up while doing the activity that I had planned. My experience with children is very warm and I attempt to make a rich environment for the children in terms of safety, learning and interactions so the parents feel safe and positive when dropping off their children to the childcare. My experience working with special needs included working with children with autistic, down syndrome, and hearing impairment. My experience working with special needs was incredibly rewarding. I believe that each child no matter what is an individual and, so their wants and needs will be different from other children. My role was to support and encourage the child to do as much as possible as they can for themselves, and to advocate on their behalf when needed. Through my experience that I have gained, I have realized that the most important part about working with special needs, is to see the ability of the child and not to consider it a disability. Thorough my experience I have always assisted and supported a child with special needs to encourage and support the child to enhance on their skills that are being worked on with a little more assistance.
