Early Childhood Educator in Ottawa, Ontario

To put it briefly: I am an Ontario Certified Teacher. I have worked in a remote First Nations community teaching Grade 2 and as the visual arts teacher and as the resource (special education teacher). Various volunteer experiences from Kindergarten through Grade 6. I am currently an Occasional Teacher for the Ottawa Catholic School Board. During all of these experiences I have had the privilege of planning for, singing with, and ensuring the safety of all of these children. As a classroom teacher for two years I encountered a variety of students with special needs. This experience meant that I worked with many students with FASD, and behavioural needs as well as some with ASD, ADHD, and other learning disabilities. I wrote and implemented IEPs. As an occasional teacher I continue to encounter many students with various special needs. I have become particularly effective at dealing with high intensity situations.
