Early Childhood Educator in Edmonton, Alberta

I have more than eight years of experience teaching and caring for children of various learning styles and abilities. Although many of these experiences have been in traditional classroom settings, I have been able to develop strong classroom management techniques which are transferable to outdoor settings and activities. One of my main priorities is to provide individuals the support they need for a positive, engaging and successful experience, no matter the task or environment. I have had the privilege to work with individuals of several learning abilities and special needs. Throughout numerous practicum placements I have had the opportunity to work with an individual with Down Syndrome (several health concerns), students with learning delays, some experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders (moderate to high functioning), and students with gifted exceptionalities. I have also worked with Community Living and have 6 months experience with adults with intellectual and physical disabilities as well as 13 months teaching and assisting students (aged 9-13) with mild behavioral disorders, ADHD, motor limitations and Tic disorders.
