Early Childhood Educator in Victoria, British Columbia

I am currently a student enrolled at Camosun College working towards my ECEA certification which will be completed by the New Year. Previous to my enrollment in the program I have 16 years of experience in on-and-off childcare with children ages 1 to 10 years old, as well as the incredible experience of raising my own son who was born last year. As a part of my studies at Camosun I participated in Practicum hours at the Victoria Native Friendship Centre’s daycare, XaXe Stelitkel, as well as at the Island Metis Childcare Centre. During my time at these centres, I explored all angles of child development, needs, communication, health & nutrition, family supports and influences, and much more. I had the opportunity to have both one-on-one time with children and group time, including going out on neighborhood adventures as well as taking the bus to a destination activity. I am very passionate about childcare and plan to continue my education to obtain my ECE/IT certifications and look forwards to seeing where that will take me.
