Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

I have experience working with children in Kindergarten, Grade 3 and Grade 6 in a school setting. I was responsible for teaching students, planning lessons and activities while at the same time accommodating to their learning needs. In a work environment, I had experience supervising toddles, pre-school and school age children in a camp setting and a kids birthday venue. In addition, I also had experience teaching ESL to various age groups in an afterschool ESL program. In my most recent experience, I have successfully completed Special Education Part 1 through York University as of December 2013. In addition, I have also been working closely with children who have special needs. For instance, in my CO-OP practice as a Kindergarten, Grade 3 and 6 student teacher, I have modified and/or accommodated many lesson plans according to students IEP. I have also worked closely with one Autistic student and have created activities and strategies to help him learn. For example, I used his interest in Hockey across all subject areas in order to keep him engaged in lessons and help him better understand the new material being discussed.
