Early Childhood Educator in Scarborough, Ontario

Please consider my application for the permanent, full-time position as an Early Childhood Educator. I graduated from Seneca College with an Early Childhood Education Diploma with a 3.9 GPA in January 2019. I am also in the process of receiving my registration within the College Of ECE. I am seeking to acquire a position in the field of Early Childhood Education to implement my knowledge and experience to further edify my career. Prior to graduating, my experience in this field would be my student placement positions during my studies which includes all age groups and a co-op position in both daycare settings and kindergarten classrooms. This allowed me to practice the use of the Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT) document and How Does Learning Happen Document along with, familiarize myself with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA). I have obtained previous positions as an ECE Assistant from my school field placements (Follow the Child Daycare) and at Muppets Preschool daycare. After graduating and receiving my diploma, I started my career with Apple Jacks Preschool where I began working as an ECA and later on became an ECE of the mini jacks (toddler) room. This is where I truly began program planning, documenting and facilitating activities, all ensuring an engaging and safe environment. I learned to work as a team player by assisting other staff and soon developed leadership skills mentoring other colleagues and students. These experiences have assisted me in continuing to develop my interpersonal and communication skills working with families, as well as confirming my understanding of being responsible and organized. It is my goal to continue to strengthen and enhance these skills in a challenging and welcoming environment.
