Early Childhood Educator in Brampton, Ontario

Through my resourcefulness during co-op placements and my employment experiences, I was able to provide a wide variety of materials to enhance the curriculum. I consistently practiced safety procedures with the children, staff, and materials, and cooperated and operated as a member of the team. Also, I was able to produce enriching and nurturing bonds with all the children and families. Through my observations and documentations I became attentive, supportive, and caring to the children. I encouraged conflict resolution and acceptance through my activities, and engaging in play. During my co-op placement at Clark Blvd Public Elementary School, there were children with special needs within the classroom. Because of this, I was able to gain valuable experience of working with a cohesive team. This team included the teacher, the teacher`s assistant, and a speech pathologist. My co-operating teacher taught me many methods to facilitate a positive and inclusive classroom. In addition, I also volunteered in the SERC classroom at St. John Fisher Elementary School. During this time, I gained experience using assistive technology and dealing with various physical and learning disabilities, with children ranging from grade 3 to 8.
