Early Childhood Educator in Edmonton, Alberta

I am a mother of a beautiful girl who just turned 15 in September and that has been a wonderful experience. I love being a Mom! I have worked 24 years in the field, and was always in a center or school setting. I moved here from Ontario sixteen years ago, and I have had the pleasure of working in a large facility such as the YMCA for two and a half years, as well as working in smaller centres. I left a centre in Ontario that I am going to miss a lot. I was the Kinder teacher, and I had my own room, which I loved. I enjoyed all the responsibilities that came along with having your own room. Since I have lived in Edmonton, I have worked in a women's shelter with the older children, been a program coordinator and had the pleasure of working for a non-profit child care centre for over a year. I worked at Mom's Choice at Lymburn for three years and at Progressive Academy for one year on contract. I was the Director of a daycare in Fort Saskatchewan. I have loved every experience. I have worked with many children with different levels of special needs, and worked very closely with resource teachers implementing Individual Program Plans. I have taken many courses and workshops, recently a Trauma Informed course and my Food Safety Course. I think it is very important to continuosly learn. I love to swim, cook, bake, crafts, colouring, and movies. My favourite thing to do is hang with my teen, when she allows me too. She is my best friend. 😊
