Early Childhood Educator in Ajax, Ontario

Hello, My name is Jessica, I am currently working as an Educational Assistant in the Durham District School Board. I love my job and all the people I get to meet each day. I am a Durham College graduate from the Child and Youth Care Advanced Diploma Program. I have experience working with children and youth from 3 years of age to 22 years of age. I have completed field placement's in the school board as a teacher assistant, educational assistant, and an in school mentor. I have experience working in Foster Homes and Group Homes offering care and support to youth with a variety of different challenges. I have experience in a clinical setting shadowing psychologist's and therapist's during appointments to children, youth and families. I have experience shadowing equine therapy and some small animal training. I have training on ABA, CPS, and CBT. I have experience working as a summer camp counsellor and supporting children and youth working towards different social and emotional goals that we have created and monitoring their progress throughout camp. I have facilitated groups that address healthy eating, healthy body image, healthy thoughts, and leading after school programs.
