Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

With my work experiences as an ECE, I have got a lot of knowledge and confidence working with children with multi-cultural backgrounds and diverse abilities. Also, I am from a Montessori kindergarten back home (Japan) and have accomplished Montessori teacher training in Vancouver, which enriched my knowledge as an educator and gave me an opportunity to work as an Montessori teacher. Although many people often ask me which approach (ECE or Montessori) is better because I have experiences of both, I believe that they are both amazing and important for children's development and should be applied according to each child's personality and desire to learn. No matter which approach is applied in order to create excellent learning environments, we educators should focus on how we can interact with children to help them with their needs/goals instead of which child can be applied to our programs. Although have got a lot of experiences to create classroom environments and activities planned according to observation and children's personalities/goals, I find that there is no end seeking to be a better educator. There are always challenges to work on, goal to reach and reward to push myself to keep working to go further. Therefore, I would love to continue to learn so that I can create better learning environments for children. In addition, I have found it important to communicate with co-workers for great team work. With my cultural background, I used to tend to keep everything in myself because I though this (no argument or complaint) was the best way for nice and smooth team work. However, I found that this was not the way to solve problems but to hide and avoid problems. Although team work needs patience, close and trusting communication with co-workers will end up creating the best team work and this will keep your professional work environment nice and comfortable. Lastly, I hope that I will be able to become a part of your team and my professional work experiences will continue to be enriched in your team.
