Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

Hi everyone! Working with children is an amazing passion of mine. I grew up in a big family with me being the eldest, and as I grew older I was held responsible for my young siblings. In school, I ended up taking courses that was related into helping others because I loved helping people out. I loved children, and so I looked into the Early Childhood Program. It was definitely something I saw myself doing in the long term and so I pursued it and went on to school for it. I’ve completed my ECA diploma and earned my First aid and CPR Level C Certificate. After taking this course, I’ve learned that there was more to kids than just fun and games. Just like children, I am a curious person so I wanted further learn how their minds work and decided to look for jobs that would help me better understand them. I’m very friendly, respectful and easily approachable to children and parents. I enjoy working and being around children and helping them to learn and grow. I’ve had several experiences from working with infants to preschoolers. I have also had the opportunity to work in a summer camp with a much older age group. Our long days together made me realize that kids are open individuals who are exploring our world yearning to learn more, their energy during the day kept me on my toes and provided countless hours of fun. I was also responsible for supervising them during outdoor and indoor activities that were planned. I had a great summer that year! I also had an amazing experience working in a daycare,I worked with mainly infants and toddlers. This was a little more work because this was an age group that I knew was all hands on and we were helping these children develop many skills as they grow. Their curiosity and excitement never failed to humble me. In my experience in working in the daycare, I planned and implemented developmental activities geared towards the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of the children. Seeing children smile and knowing that you contributed to it, is very rewarding to me. These experiences have helped me learn and grow with the kids. I love working with children because they challenge and inspire the way I look at and engage with the world around me, there is nothing more exciting than children’s imagination.
