I graduated from BSc. in Biotechnology at D.A.V College and MSc. in Human Genetics at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab. During my Dissertation I have worked on Obesity among primary school children. Due to this project, I possess handful knowledge in various Anthropometric measurements and Statistical Analysis. In 2010, I worked as Project Fellow in Department of Human Genetics under the Project entitled “MTHFR Gene Poly- morphism: its implication as a maternal risk factor for Down syndrome”. This project provides me with a good knowledge and experience in the world of Cell Culturing, Karyotyping and various Molecular Techniques as mentioned in my CV. I have six years of experience in handling the diagnostic laboratory for Genetic Disorders, performing all genetics tests and counseling to patients (Center for Genetic Disorders, G.N.D.U, Amritsar). At present, I am working as principal investigator under the project awarded by Department of Science and Technology, Delhi, entitled “Prevalence of genetic polymorphisms (MTHFR, MTRR, MTR and RFC I) among North Indian mothers as a risk factor for Down syndrome” and persuing my Ph.D from the same department.
