Early Childhood Educator in Calgary, Alberta

Hello, my name is Taryn Hathaway I am a 27 year old mother to my first little one who is 17 months old! I have been working in formal childcare settings for 8 years now, but have been babysitting and caring for children since I was a young teenager. Children are my true passion in life. I currently have my level 2 CDW childcare certification, valid childcare first aid and CPR and clear police/vulnerable sector checks. I studied at MRU where I completed 2 years of formal ELCC training, and technically I should have my Level 3 but there is some issue with my transcripts I am trying to sort out. In my currently role I am the lead teacher in my classroom, I am confident managing my small team (5 people average) and ensuring my classroom runs effectively. Majority of my experience is with infants 6 weeks- 2 years and I love working with this age group. I am highly knowledgeable with planning and curriculum/ classroom management and licensing. I am familiar and comfortable with using a variety of teaching philosophy including, Reggio, FLIGHT and Montessori. Additional skills I have are campus Administration including helping with payroll, managing ratio sheets, providing parent tours and follow up and ensuring documentation is up to date (allergy lists/media denial lists/child files, staff files) .
