I have been employed as a Teacher's Assistant for approximately a decade using play based methods to facilitate learning, and have been privileged to work primarily with kids from junior kindergarten to grade 3. My philosophy can be summed up as "a child's work is play". I am a believer in learning through play in both school and home environments. In a daycare or home environment, I love getting outside in yards and playgrounds or down on the floor to play as well as spend quiet time at reading, puzzles, games or arts and crafts. I make great play dough and finger paint and have spent many happy hours with my own kids making play dough creations, greeting cards, and other ‘works of art’ or just baking treats.
