Early Childhood Educator in Toronto, Ontario

During my ten years in the child care field, I have developed strong interpersonal and communication skills working with diverse groups of staff, families, and other child care professionals. My B.A in Psychology has also provided me with insight and knowledge of communication and interpersonal interactions through extensive research. I am in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators which provides me with an opportunity for grow within the child care field via the Continuous Professional Learning program as Registered Early Childhood Educator.       During my experience as the sole individual in a supervisory role, which requires me to work independently, I have honed my time management skills - ensuring that I place importance on tasks at hand, as well as planning ahead for weekly, monthly, and annual deadlines, all within a fast-paced environment that is often unpredictable. I would also bring my extensive knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen, Children's Services Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) and Toronto Public Health regulations to the position. I also have worked closely with other professionals including caseworkers, resource consultants, occupational therapists, school social workers, my Program Advisor from the Ministry of Education, and my District Consultant from Children’s Services.I also have considerable experience using Early Learning For Every Child Today (ELECT) framework for programming, child observations, and evaluations. I have consistently used my knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Child Family Services Act to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and staff remains the first priority for myself.
