Early Childhood Educator in Ottawa, Ontario

I have been a nanny for 8 years, worked with children with medical conditions, special dietary needs and special needs. I was a summer recreation worker last summer at a women's shelter (ages 1-16) and successfully implemented a strategy for dealing with discipline issues in a supportive and understanding way by being consistent and explaining expectations (previous tactics had been aggressive and only exacerbated the issues). I also organized programs, events and excursions at the women's shelter as well as the community centre (summer 2013). I have experience supervising and supporting children in learning and rehabilitation activities (developmental, mental health and medical issues) from my previous jobs as well as volunteer work
