Early Childhood Educator in Mississauga, Ontario

My name is Avery Millar. I am currently in nursing school, pursuing my BScN degree. I’ve always been drawn to working with children, as their minds are extremely creative and they’re naturally very curious and interested in learning about life. I previously worked with kids aged 18 months to 7 years in a coaching environment for a little over a year. I’ve volunteered at the church during summer camp, aiding in creative activities, participating in games, telling stories, and teaching lessons. I have also worked at another summer camp with children aged 3 to 14, and enjoyed my time there. I am very patient, calm but I can acknowledge when behavioural changes need to happen, without scaring the child, or making them feel uncomfortable. I believe that children need someone with these attributes so that they can identify when their behaviour is inappropriate, but they can also feel free to be themselves, and have fun with whomever is taking care of them. I enjoy playing games with kids, and participating in activities that they’re interested in. Having honed my skills over the years, I am equipped with the knowledge and expertise to effectively support the lead teacher in implementing engaging curriculum activities and maintaining a positive classroom environment. I strongly believe in the importance of building meaningful connections with both the children and their families, and I strive to create a sense of community within the classroom. My hourly rate is $18.0, and I am dedicated to providing quality care and education for children.
