Early Childhood Educator in Ottawa, Ontario

I have worked with young children in a variety of settings. Before starting my ECE I volunteered for several schools. I have worked with primarily Kindergarten and preschool children for the past number of years. I have assisted and been mentored through two kindergarten-school age programs. Then for my final placement I worked in a preschool program in Cairo, Egypt where I programed curriculum for children aged 3-6. After completing my ECE I started teacher training where I was mentored through 2 four month placements where I taught in a kindergarten jk/sk classroom and a grade 4,5,6 class. The most rewarding experience I had working with children with special needs was while being mentored in Cairo, Egypt I was able to assist in the diagnoses of a child with cerebral palsy. In addition to this experience I was a behavioral counselor for youths with conduct disorder.
